When realizing the nature of mind it allows us to cut through this attachment to existence,
in order to cut through these attachment to peace one realizes great compassion, and then it is this great compassion that allows us to overcome resting or being stuck in this extreme of peace or nirvana.
On the basis of an understanding of Nagarjuna we are able to see clearly the views of the 3 schools: Mahamudra, MahaAti and Madhyamika. We learn how to work with logic. In Tibet debating is based on the treatises of Nagarjuna. Rinpoche emphasizes the importance of Nagarjuna's 60 Stances on Reasoning
Verse 58: If there is a reference point attachment and non-attachment arise, for great beings there is no reference point and so they are free from attachment and non-attachment.
Verse 59, When one is no longer irritated by a mind that ceases on to emptiness, one crosses the ocean of existence which is difficult to endure and stirred up by the sea servant of conflicting emotions and unexamined views.
Verse 60, Dedication
Through this virtue may all beings having gathered the accumulation of merit and wisdom, attain the two kayas which arise from merit and wisdom.
