Engendering overwhelming faith in Milarepa, a young man asks him with great sincerity, "I have all I need for this life, but I have not made any provisions whatsoever for future lives. I want to give up attachment to this life and follow your path. What do I need that will bring benefit for lives to come?" Milarepa answers his heart son with this song.
