Gyalwa Gotsangpa is considered to be the reincarnation of Jetsün Milarepa. At the age of sixteen, he developed a strong sense of renunciation with the world and sought out his teacher Tsangpa Gyare Yeshe Dorje. He spent his later part of life in mountain retreats.
While visiting Karma Thegsum Choling, Hartford, 9-11 August 2005, Rinpoche teaches the following songs by Gotsangpa:
