At the restricted retreat at Cha'an Center, Tenerife, 9-20 September 1996, Rinpoche gave 14 talks on the Trekcho and Thogal sections of Lodro Thaye's text, Complete Liberation of the Three Realms. Rinpoche draws from Beholding Naked Awareness རིག་པ་གཅེར་མཐོང་གི་བརྒྱུད། and Heart Drop of the Karmapa ཀརྨ་སྙིང་ཐིག and various songs of realization by Gyalwa Gotsangpa and Gyalwa Dondrub's Praises to Machig.
Rinpoche also taught Part IV, The Supplementary topics, from the Ocean of Definitive Meaning. By teaching mahamudra in the morning and mahaati in the evening Rinpoche prays that his students will come to realize the single intention of these instructions: realization of the nature of mind.

Rinpoche began the main European course held at Tenerife in June 2000, with Maitreya's Aspiration Prayer and then continued to teach madhyamaka from Fundamental Knowledge of the Middle Way, mahāmudrā from the Ocean of Definitive Meaning, and finally dzogchen from the Complete Liberation of the Three Realms.
On this occasion, Rinpoche transmits the pointing-out sections from the Ocean of Definitive Meaning combining them with his Sādhana of Mahāmudrā.
