Rinpoche visited Crestone, Baca, Colorado in August, 1985. While there, he extensively taught chapter 6 and 7 from Treasury of Knowledge to the Nalanda Translation Committee members. Rinpoche also offered three talks on sutra mahamudra in a public setting as well as having the senior students present topics, such as mahayana, madhyamaka, the four interpretations, and the four reliances.

In 2004, Rinpoche enhances his teachings by elucidating explanations from Jetsun Milarepa's great treasure of songs of realization, especially Distinguishing the Provisional from the Definitive in the Context of Mahamudra,Taking Appearances to the Path, Song to a Pigeon Goddess Girl, and Six Questions, along with Dzogchen Paltrul Rinpoche's Five Poisons Self-liberated; in 2005, with several of his own compositions, especially talks on Fifty Verses on View and Flame at the Heart of Great Bliss.
