In November-December 1998, Rinpoche visited Australia for the very first time, more specifically Tralek Rinpoche's Maitripa Retreat Center and the Kagyu E Wam Buddhist Institute in Melbourne.
At Maitripa Retreat Center Rinpoche taught the following songs of realization by Milarepa:
- Prayer of Solemn Commitment དམ་བཅའ་སྨོན་ལམ།
- Profound Definitive Meaning Sung on the Snowy Range གངས་མགུར་ངེས་དོན་ཟབ་མོ།
- Distinguishing the Provisional from the Definitive in the Context of Mahamudra ཕྱག་ཆེན་དྲང་ངེས་རྣམ་འབྱེད།
Rinpoche also taught his own composition: The Essence of Clear Light Sunshine, A Commentary on the Meaning of the Three Nails གཟེར་གསུམ་གྱི་དོན་འགྲེལ་འོད་གསལ་ཉི་མའི་སྙིང་པོ།
