At the occasion where Milarepa meets his heart-son, Seben Repa, the Jetsun is staying near an inn in the manner of a "ku-su-lu", i.e., a practitioner who from the outside looks like he or she is doing nothing at all.
The monks of Geshe Yaru Thangpa despise Milarepa for this and the Jetsun sings them this song of realization.
