In 1998, 18-24 September, Rinpoche visits Seattle. Arranged by Kagyu Shenpen Ösel Ling, Rinpoche offers nine teachings:

  • Talk 1-5, In Praise of Dharmadhātu   ཆོས་ཀྱི་དབྱིངས་སུ་བསྟོད་པ།
  • Talk 6, Questions and Answers

Visiting Karma Theksum Choling, Santa Cruz, 6-11 October 1998, after an extraordinarily beautiful introductory speech, Rinpoche offers 6 talks on Praise of Dharmadhatu and 2 sessions with question and answer.

Visiting Hawaii in November 1998, Rinpoche points out the luminous nature of mind based on a combination of texts: Nāgārjuna's In Praise of Dharmadhatu; Sakya Chokden's commentary to it: Ascertaining Dharmadhātu: An Explanation of the Praise of Dharmadhātu, a vast number of Milarepa's songs of realization and several of his commentaries to them.

It is also during this course that he composes his own commentary to Nāgārjuna's praise, namely, A Concise Explanation of Dharmadhatu: Mind Itself, Dharmadhatu's Luminous Expanse. Rinpoche completes his explanations with 3 talks on the sixteen types of Emptiness from Chandrakirti Entering the Middle Way.

The program was offered at Kagyu Thekchen Ling in Honolulu but also during a 2-day visit to Maui.

On his European tour in the Summer 2002, Rinpoche visits the Shambhala Center in London, July 27-28. Rinpoche introduces the audience to Jetsun Mila's life story, explaining how each verse in his song of realization called Seven Ways Things Shine Inside and Out, relates to his life, and then proceeds with offering three talks on Nagarjuna's In Praise of Dharmadhatu.
