During his visit to Santa Cruz, California, 22-26 June 1993, Rinpoche offers two talks at the Pacific Cultural Center and four at the dharma center, Karma Thegsum Choling, Santa Cruz.
At the Pacific Cultural Center, Rinpoche teaches on lack of personal self and on chittamatra; at the dharma center he masterfully elucidates madhyamaka and two songs of realization by the lord of yogins Milarepa, namely Distinguishing the Provisional from the Definitive in the Context of Mahamudra and Ultimate View, Meditation, Conduct and Fruition.
Visiting Lexington, Kentucky, 31 July - 1 August 1993, Rinpoche explains the meditative stages on view as presented in the five main Buddhist tenets. Rinpoche composes beautiful verses and has the audience recite them.
