This is the first official Rigpe Dorje Winter Program held at Pullahari, January 1994. Rinpoche therefore offers a variety of talks on view that also are particularly suited for learning Tibetan. He presents:

An evening meeting held at Marpa House, Bouddha, where Rinpoche greets his newly arrived students and reveals his plans for the upcoming course. The course in January consists in

  • 6 talks on Jamgon Rinpoche's Treasury of Knowledge, chapter 7.3: Ascertaining the View
  • 2 talks on Milarepa's Distinguishing the Provisional from the Definitive in the Context of Mahamudra
  • 6 talks on Dakpo Rinpoche's Jewel Ornament of Liberation
  • 3 talks outlining the mahayana path, two of which are Rinpoche's own composition on its Seven Types of Greatness 
  • 5 talk on his own composition that summarizes the progressive stages of view called, Progression of View, the Quintessence of Definitive Meaning
  • 2 talks devoted to respectively the Ten Types of Dharma Training and the Importance of Recitation Meditation

Rinpoche continues to teach at Marpa House in Bouddha in February and March. In February he mainly teaches Maitreya's Buddha Nature, and in March, The Chö practice. In February he also offers one talk on the Four Applications from Maitreya's text, Distinguishing Phenomena and Pure Being, as well as 4 talks on Lodro Thaye's Calling the Gur From Afar at Pullahari.

In April, a publication of chapter 7.3: Ascertaining the View has been made in multiple languages and Rinpoche again offers extensive teachings on this chapter, in all 26 talks. Some of these talks were given up in Pullahari and some in Marpa House, Bouddha. Since this cannot be established with certainty, all talks are published here as the Pullahari Winter Program. Rinpoche furthermore distributes the booklet: Ten Songs on the Definitive Meaning /Ten Greatest Hits and gives explanatory reading transmission for the songs.
