In 1993 the new publication of Ten Songs on the Definitive Meaning also called "Ten Songs on View, Meditation, Conduct and Fruition" or "Milarepa, 10 Greatest Hits" arrived from the printer during the summer course at Karmê Chöling.

The ten songs are: Six Questions, Three Nails, Song of Mahamudra, Happiness and Misery - Drawing the Line, Eight Kinds of Mastery, Distinguishing the Provisional from the Definitive in the Context of Mahamudra, The Profound Definitive Meaning, Eight Ornaments of the Definitive Meaning, Turning Daily Behavior into a Practice, Prayer of Solemn Commitment.

At Karmê Chöling, Rinpoche immediately took up the auspicious connection by briefly explaining the extraordinary profundity of Jetsün Mila's songs, giving meditation instructions for the recitation of them and the reading transmission (lung) for each of them. He also gave more extensive explanations on Three Nails  གཟེར་གསུམ།   which you will find in the category Songs of Realization.

In Hawaii in 1994, Rinpoche bestowed refuge- and bodhisattva vows, offered extensive teachings on the songs and presented the three traditions of mahamudra.

You will also find recordings from Pullahari 1994, Vancouver 1994, where Rinpoche gives reading transmission for the ten songs and highlights a few verses.
